Effingham Sacred Heart was a winner in both seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball competition Monday.

The Shamrocks downed Neoga in seventh-grade play, 25-17, 25-18.

In eighth-grade action, Sacred Heart was a winner, 25-20, 25-15.

 

At Altamont

Altamont and South Central picked up a victory each in junior high volleyball competition Monday.

In seventh-grade play, South Central took the match. Altamont won the opener 25-18 but South Central came back with 25-14, 25-21 scores for the win.  Altamont dropped to 1-2 in the National Trail Conference, 2-3 overall.

Altamont was a 25-17, 25-20 winner in the eighth-grade match to improve to 4-0 in the National Trail Conference and 5-0 overall.

Altamont -- Rippetoe, 14 aces, 1 dig; Goeckner, 1 ace, 1 dig; Lurkens, 3 kills, 3 aces; Hollinshead, 2 kills, 2 aces, 1 dig; Spar, 1 kill, 5 aces, 1 assist; Stock, 2 kills, 2 aces, 1 dig; Fleeherty, 1 ace, 1 assist

Eighth-Grade Match

Altamont -- Lemke, 5 kills, 8 aces, 5 digs; Reardon, 4 kills, 4 aces, 5 digs; Moore, 1 kill, 2 aces, 4 digs; Splechtor, 7 aces, 2 digs, 9 assists; Tonn, 2 digs; Klien, 5 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs

 

At Brownstown

Dieterich downed St. Elmo/Brownstown in both matches Monday.

Dieterich was a winner in the seventh-grade contest, 25-21, 25-11.

In eighth-grade play, Dieterich won, 25-18, 25-22.

 

At Louisville

Jasper County defeated North Clay (Louisville) in volleyball action Monday.

Jasper County claimed the seventh-grade match, 25-14, 25-13.

In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County picked up the victory, 25-8, 25-15.
