Effingham played host to Charleston in junior high school volleyball action and claimed two victories Thursday.

In the seventh-grade contest, the Mustangs won 25-17, 25-23 and improved to 2-0 on the season.

In the eighth-grade match, Effingham was a winner, 25-8, 25-22.

At Dieterich

Effingham Sacred Heart handed Dieterich losses in both seventh and eighth-grade play Thursday.

The Shamrocks won the seventh-grade match, 25-19, 25-17.

In the eighth-grade contest, Sacred Heart won the opener 25-17 but Dieterich came back with a 25-12 count. The Shamrocks then won the match, 25-16.

 

At Sigel

Altamont and Sigel St. Michael both picked up victories Thursday.

St. Michael was a winner in seventh-grade action, 25-16, 25-10. Altamont dropped to 2-2 on the season.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont picked up the victory, 25-14, 25-13 and remains unbeaten at 4-0.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis nabbed the seventh-grade match while Casey-Westfield was a winner in eighth-grade play Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes won 25-12, 25-16 to improve to 1-2.

In eighth-grade action, Casey-Westfield took the opener 25-17 but T-town came back with a 25-14 win. Casey-Westfield then claimed the match, 25-22. The Shoes dropped to 1-2.

At Teutopolis

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) was a winner in both seventh and eighth-grade competition Thursday.

North Clay defeated Neoga in the seventh-grade match. North Clay won the opener 25-22 but Neoga came back with a 25-16 victory. North Clay then took the match, 25-13.

In the eighth-grade contest, North Clay was a winner, 25-12, 27-25.

 

At Newton

Jasper County downed Marshall in both seventh and eighth-grade action Thursday.

Jasper County was a winner in the seventh-grade match, 25-23 before Marshall took a 25-18 win. Jasper County finished out with a 15-12 score for the victory.

In eighth-grade play, Jasper County won 25-16, 25-16.

Both Jasper County squads improve to 2-0 on the season.

At Newton

At Kinmundy

Wndsor picked up two victories, going three sets each time, to beat South Central Thursday.

In the seventh-grade contest, South Central claimed the opener 25-18 but Windsor came back with 25-23, 15-5 counts for the win.

In the eighth-grade match, Windsor won 25-23 before South Central claimed a 25-19 set. Windsor then won the match, 16-14.
