Sacred Heart Loses, Cumberland Wins In Sectional Action

CLASS 8-1A OAKLAND SECTIONAL
Effingham Sacred Heart saw its season come to an end in the championship match of the Class 8-1A Oakland Sectional.
The Shamrocks lost to host Oakland Lake Crest 26-24, 25-18. Oakland Lake Crest improved its record to 17-2 and will head to the 1A State Tournament at Hartsburg-Emden High School Saturday to face Hardin Calhoun (16-1) at 11:15 a.m.

Cumberland captured the championship of its own sectional by downing Robinson Nuttall 25-16, 25-20.
The Raiders (15-8) advance to Saturday's State Final at Tolono Unity High School where they will face Eureka at 2:15 p.m.
