CLASS 7-2A EFFINGHAM ST. ANTHONY REGIONAL
Effingham St. Anthony moved into the championship match of its own regional with a victory Monday evening.
The Bullpups defeated Hutsonville 27-25, 15-25, 25-22.
In the opening match of the evening, Edwards County (Albion) ended Altamont's season with a 25-15, 22-25, 25-11 victory.
St. Anthony and Edwards County will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the regional title.
CLASS 7-2A FINDLAY OKAW VALLEY REGIONAL
Neoga will be playing for the championship of the Findlay Okaw Valley Regional after taking a win Monday evening.
Neoga downed Nokomis 25-17, 21-25, 26-24 in the second match of the evening.
In the opener, Arthur won over Arcola 25-13, 25-8.
Neoga and Arthur will meet at 6:30 p.m. today for the regional championship.
IN OTHER MATCHES TONIGHT:
In the Class 7-1A West Salem Regional tonight, Effingham Sacred Heart faces Newton St. Thomas at 5 p.m. followed by Windsor against Stewardson-Strasburg at 6:15 p.m. The winners advance to the regional title match at 7:30 p.m.
In the Class 7-3A Jasper County Regional, St. Elmo squares off against Cumberland for the championship at 6 p.m. today.
REGULAR SEASON
Effingham Sacred Heart split with Trinity Lutheran in seventh and eighth-grade play.
Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade match 10-25, 25-22, 25-19. In the eighth-grade match, Trinity Lutheran won 23-25, 25-10, 27-25.
