Effingham St. Anthony downed Teutopolis twice in junior high volleyball action Friday.

The Bullpups won the seveth-grade match, 25-16, 25-23

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony won the opener 25-17. T-town came back with a 25-22 second set but the Bullpups claimed a 25-16 final set for the match.

At St. Anthony

Seventh-Grade Match

At Effingham

Trinity Lutheran claimed the championship of the Effingham Seventh-Grade Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

St. Anthony won the opening match over Ramsey, 25-20, 25-19. Trinity Lutheran then downed Effingham, 25-22, 25-17.

Effingham won over Ramsey, 25-19, 25-17. Trinity Lutheran defeated St. Anthony, 25-15, 25-17 and won over Ramsey, 25-12, 25-14.

Effingham then beat St. Anthony, 23-25, 25-20, 25-16.

Trinity Lutheran took first with a 3-0 record followed by Effingham 2-1, St. Anthony 1-2 and Ramsey 0-3.

At Charleston

Teutopolis claimed a victory and suffered two losses at the Charleston Seventh-Grade Tournament Saturday.

T-town won the opener over Charleston, 25-16, 25-16.

The second match went to Champaign Jefferson, 25-15, 25-13.

Mahomet-Seymour then downed the Wooden Shoes, 25-14, 25-14.

T-town is now 6-11 in seventh-grade play.

At Neoga

Stewardson-Strasburg captured third place at the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Tournament Saturday while North Clay (Louisville) finished fourth.

North Clay won over St. Elmo/Brownstown, 25-20, 25-14. Neoga downed Sigel St. Michael, no score reported.

North Clay then faced Neoga and lost, 28-26, 25-20.

North Clay played Stewardson-Strasburg for third place and lost, 25-18, 21-25, 17-15.

No other information was provided on the tournament.

 

LEIC Tournament

Jasper County claimed the championship of the LEIC Seventh-Grade Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

Jasper County defeated Lawrenceville, 25-10, 27-25 and Robinson 25-15, 25-11. In the championship match, Jasper County downed Casey-Westfield, 25-23, 25-19.

Jasper County is now 13-2 on the season.
