Altamont is NTC Tournament Champion

The Altamont Indians are the 2019 National Trail Conference volleyball tournament champions.
In the Gold Flight finals Saturday, Altamont defeated St. Elmo/Brownstown 25-20, 25-7 and then defeated Windsor/Stew-Stras 25-11, 25-14 to claim the title.
On Thursday, Altamont had defeated St. Anthony 25-18, 25-17 and beat North Clay 25-5, 25-11.
Windsor/Stew-Stras finished second in the Gold Flight. The Hatchets on Friday beat Dieterich 25-18, 25-17 and beat CHBC 25-15, 25-5. WSS beat SEB Saturday 25-13, 25-8 ahead of the loss to Altamont.
SEB finished third in the Gold Flight. The Eagles beat Neoga Friday 23-25, 25-14, 25-20 and beat South Central Friday 19-25, 28-26, 25-23 before losses to Altamont and WSS on Saturday.
South Central won the Silver Flight. The Cougars Friday beat Neoga 20-25, 25-15, 25-13, then lost Friday to SEB. South Central Saturday beat CHBC 25-18, 25-21 and beat St. Anthony 25-16, 25-14.
Dieterich won the Bronze Flight. The Movin Maroons Friday lost to WSS 18-25, 17-25 and lost Friday to CHBC 18-25, 15-19, 11-25. On Saturday, Dieterich beat Neoga 22-25, 25-15, 25-21. and beat North Clay 25-13, 17-25, 25-15.
Other Saturday scores: In the Bronze Flight, Neoga beat North Clay 25-22, 22-25, 26-24. In the Silver Flight, CHBC defeated St. Anthony 25-20, 4-25, 25-20.

About the championship match, Hatchets Coach Ronda Schlechte said, "I was really hoping we could have played 'our' game tonight, but we played very timid. We finally started to fight in the second set, but it was too late. Taking second is still a big accomplishment, since we were missing Mackinze Reynolds and one is playing hurt."
