Newton finished third in the Pana/Shelbyville Invitational on Saturday.

Newton defeated Shelbyville 25-19, 25-16 and won over Effingham 25-19, 25-22. The Eagles then lost to St. Thomas More 17-25, 19-25, and lost to Rochester 24-26, 14-25; then bounced back to beat Pana 21-25, 25-20, 25-18 to capture third place honors.
