T-town Downs St. A, EHS Falls, Area Volleyball Roundup

Teutopolis High School rolled into the Enlow Center and handed Effingham St. Anthony a volleyball loss Thursday evening.
The Bulldogs claimed the varsity opener 26-24 but T-town rallied for 25-16, 25-19 scores and the win.
The Wooden Shoes were led by Ciara Repking with 13 digs and 10 kills, Hannah Rodgers with 10 points and 20 assists. Erica Michels with 17 kills and 10 points, Emily Konkel and Eve Walker with two blocks each. T-town improves to 13-10.
"It's been a brutal stretch of games since the Charleston Tournament," said T-town Coach Tim Mills. "Injuries have caused us to shift players and change rotations. We're averaging 14 unforced errors per set over the past four matches. That's 136 errors over a span of 10 sets. Most of those have been hitting errors. As a team we've hit .109 during those four matches. We only have one match next week. We're hoping to be healthy by the time we see Newton and Altamont at home."
The Bulldogs were led by Ada Rozene with nine kills while Kyra Swearingen had 16 assists. Rileigh Haarmann led in points with 11.
T-town won the junior varsity match, 25-10, 25-20. The two schools split freshman contests. T-town won 25-15 and St. Anthony won 25-21.

Effingham High School fell to Taylorville in Apollo Conference action Thursday.
The Tornadoes won 25-19, 25-17. Leading the Hearts were Sam Urch with five kills and two blocks, Hayley Dively with 10 assists and Olivia Martin with 11 digs.

Altamont handed Dieterich a loss in two sets Thursday, 25-23, 25-19. The Indians remain unbeaten in the National Trail Conference at 7-0 and are 14-0 overall.
Mette and Runge led the Indians in kills with six each. McManaway had 16 assists and three aces. Mette, Runge and McManaway had one block each.
Dieterich was led by Kaitlyn Boerngen with four kills and 10 digs, Alli Schmidt with six assists and Jozlyn Haycraft with two aces.
Altamont also nabbed the junior varsity match, 25-17, 25-18.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg picked up a National Trail Conference victory over North Clay (Louisville) Thursday.
The Hatchets won 25-10, 25-12 and now stand at 6-1 in the conference, 9-7 overall.
"The girls had another good night tonight," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Things are starting to click and we are having more fun on the court."
Anna Schlechte and Jessica Rauch led the winners in aces with two each. Mackinzee Reynolds had eight kills and led in digs with six. Hannah Hayes led in the assist department with 10. Hannah Bean had one solo block.
WSS also nabbed the junior varsity match, 25-23, 25-18 to improve to 6-1 in the conference, 10-4 overall.

Newton picked up another victory, this one against Robinson. The Eagles won in two sets, 25-15, 25-19 and are now 16-3 on the season.
B. Johnson had three aces while Probst had nine kills and nine digs. Hemrich led in assists with 20. Kuhl had three blocks.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City picked up a National Trail Conference win over Neoga Thursday.
Neoga took the opener 25-16 but the Bobcats came back with 25-16, 25-18 sets for the victory.
Haley Stodden led in digs with 18 for Neoga. Audrey Ramert had four kills. Olivia Titus led in aces with four. Elizabeth Titus had four assists.
CHBC defeated Neoga, 18-25, 25-19, 26-24 in the junior varsity match.
