STRASBURG -- Altamont High School remained unbeaten by handing Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg its first volleyball loss of the season Thursday.
The Indians were winners in two sets, 25-22, 25-21 and improves to 2-0 in the National Trail Conference, 9-0 overall.
Jackman led the way in kills with eight while Mette had seven and Pemberton six. Mette led in digs with 16 and aces with three.
The Hatchets were led by Hannah Hayes with two aces and eight assists and Mackinzee Reynolds with eight kills and three solo blocks.
"Tonight things did not fall our way," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Mackenzie Brown broke her ankle this week and will be out. I feel that we all didn't step up to play our games. We struggled in almost all parts of the game. Hopefully, it's a good wakeup call going into the Crossroads Classic. Altamont has some nice hitters and we couldn't stop them."
Windsor/Stew-Stras drops to 1-1 in the conference, 3-1 overall.
In junior varsity play, WSS claimed the win, 25-15, 25-17. Altamont dropped to 0-2 in the conference, 4-4 overall.

Dieterich lost the opener against Patoka, 25-21 but came back to take the second set 26-24 and the match at 25-18 Thursday.
Gabby Hardiek led the Movin' Maroons in kills with 20. Emily Bloemer had 21 assists. Alie Poe and Kaitlyn Boerngen had 11 digs each. Taylor Curry had a block.
Dieterich fell in junior varsity play, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23.

Probst and Jansen led in kills with six each. Hemrich had 19 assists. Kuhl tallied two blocks. Geltz had seven digs.
The Eagles also claimed the junior varsity match, 22-25, 25-23, 16-14 and a freshman contest, 15-25, 25-14, 14-11.

The Cougars won in two sets, 25-16, 25-23.
