ALTAMONT -- Altamont HIgh School remained perfect on the season by claiming its own volleyball invitational Saturday.
Scores were:

The Indians are now a perfect 7-0 on the season. Jackman led the Indians for the entire tournament in kills with 35. Eckhardt led in digs with 21 and aces with nine. McManaway had 97 assists. Runge led in blocks with four.

Newton captured second place at the Casey-Westfield Invitational Saturday.
The Eagles defeated Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, 25-5, 25-15 and won over Salt Fork, 25-15, 25-11. The Eagles then fell to Fairfield, 26-24, 21-25, 15-4.
In the Gold Bracket, Newton won over Hartsburg-Emden, 25-10, 25-23 before losing to Tolono Unity, 25-18, 25-19 to take second.
Jansen led in aces with nine while Probst had 35 kills. Hemrich led in assists with 87. Kuhl had four blocks and Geltz led in digs with 55. Maddi Hemrich was named to the All-Tournament Team.
St .Anthony fell to Tuscola, 28-26, 25-11 and lost to Casey-Westfield, 25-23, 25-9.

SEB then lost to Pana, 25-18, 25-20 and fell to Neoga, 21-25, 26-24, 15-8.

North Clay fell to Chester, 25-18, 25-18 then lost to Carbondale, 25-15, 25-9. The Cardinals fell to Waterloo, 25-17, 25-13 before beating Cahokia, 25-15, 25-18.
At Champaign
Effingham competed in the Champaign Central Junior VarsityTournament.
The Hearts lost to Paxton-Buckley-Loda, 21-25, 25-22, 15-13 then won over Tuscola, 25-13, 25-18.
Effingham then downed Rantoul, 25-18, 25-13.
