Seventh-Grade Regionals -- Feb. 25

Effingham St. Anthony advanced in its own Class 7-2A Girls Volleyball Regional Monday evening.

The Bullpups handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 25-18, 25-18 loss.

In the second match, Arcola won over Neoga, 25-23, 25-22.

St. Anthony and Arcola advance to the championship match of the regional at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Class 7-3A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional

St. Elmo/Brownstown moved ahead in its own Class 7-3A Regional Monday.

SEB went three sets before downing Arthur. SEB won the opener 25-15 but Arthur took the second set 25-20. SEB then claimed the match 25-12.

In the second contest, Cumberland downed Sullivan, 25-19, 25-20.

Teutopolis picked up the third contest by beating Tuscola East Prairie, 25-20, 25-25 to improve to 15-7 on the season.

SEB will now face Shelbyville Moulton at 6 p.m. today while Teutopolis will clash with Cumberland at 7 p.m.

The winners advance to the championship match Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Class 7-3A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional

Teutopolis -- Niemerg, 5 aces, 2 assists, 2 kills; Einhorn, 6 aces; Pals, 1 ace, 2 kills; Frey, 2 aces, 1 assist, 4 kills; Wall, 1 ace, 3 kills; Zerrusen, 1 kill; Hemmen, 1 ace

Class 7-1A Oakland Lake Crest Regional

Chrisman Scottland handed Windsor a 25-4, 25-21 loss in the opening match of the Class 7-1A Oakland Regional Monday.

In the second match, Hume Shiloh downed Mattoon St. John's, 25-11, 25-21.

The final match of the evening went to Stewardson-Strasburg over Oakland Lake Crest, 25-16, 25-7.

Tonight's matches will have Findlay Okaw Valley against Chrisman Scottland at 6 followed by Stewardson-Strasburg taking on Hume Shiloh at 7:15.

Class 7-3A Robinson Nuttall Regional

Robinson Nuttall advanced in its own regional Monday.

Nuttall handed Marshall a 25-20, 25-15 loss.

In the second contest, Casey-Westfield won over Jasper County. C-W took the opener 25-18 before Jasper County claimed the second set 25-13. Casey-Westfield then won 25-21 for the match.

Robinson Nuttall and Casey-Westfield move into the championship match at 6 p.m. Thursday.
