Charleston downed Effingham in Apollo Conference volleyball action Thursday 25-21, 25-21.

Teutopolis defeated Neoga 25-20, 25-15 Thursday to improve to 10-4 on the season.

Teutopolis Coach Tim Mills said, "We managed to get some girls their first taste of varsity tonight. Julia Probst served and played backrow for Erica Michels in Set #2. She did a great job of hitting her spots with the serve. She had a couple aces and three digs. Hope Bueker picked up a block and Lexie Niebrugge had a dig and a couple big serves. Ciara Roepke played rightside and set for the first time at the varsity level. I don't think she was very comfortable, but she did really well considering we haven't practice it too much yet."
