WSS, T-town, Neoga Claim Volleyball Wins

STRASBURG -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School improved to 2-0 on the season with a 25-7, 25-14 win over Dieterich Tuesday.
"The girls came out with a bang in the first set," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Everything just flowed really well. We had a few more errors in set two but recovered nicely."
Megan Schlechte led in kills with 13 and aces with four. Mackenzi Tabbert had 24 assists. Carson Cole led in digs with six.
Dieterich was led by Gabi Hardiek with four kills, Eily Bloemer and Jenny Robards with three assists each, Alexis Lucy with two aces and Allie Poe with three digs.
In junior varsity play, the Hatchets won 25-7, 25-14. WSS took the freshman/sophomore match, 25-16, 25-19 and is now 4-1.

Teutopolis swept on the night. The varsity downed Marshall, 25-22, 25-17.
Julia Frey had three blocks for the Shoes while Katelyn Jansen had five digs. Kate Volk had seven assists and Erica Michels six kills.
The Shoes won the junior varsity contest, 25-17, 26-24 and claimed the freshman contest, 25-9, 25-10.

Neoga claimed a varsity win over Arcola in action Tuesday.
The Indians won 25-20, 25-22. Mary Hill led in kills withy nine for the Indians. Aly Easton had 11 assists. Olivia Titus led in digs with seven.
The match was the season opener for the Indians.

CORL claimed the match in two games, 25-21, 25-17.
Leading SEB were Macy Cripe and Natalie Oberlink with three kills each, Cripe with two aces, Marlee Nolen with 37 assists and Vayda Smith with nine digs.

Charleston came calling and picked up a varsity win over Cumberland, 23-25, 25-15, 25-18 in the Pirates season opener Tuesday.
Leading Cumberland were Maddie Hendrix with eight kills and two blocks, Tayler McMechan with two blocks and 16 assists and Zoe Mitchell with two blocks.
Cumberland won the junior varsity contest, 25-21, 25-18.
