CHBC, T-town Nab Volleyball Victories

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City dropped the first game against Mulberry Grove 25-21 but came back with 25-17, 25-9 victories to win the volleyball match Tuesday.

Lauren Wojcik led in kills with eight and had two blocks. Paeton Underwood had three aces and eight assists. Jacque Witteborg had 10 digs.

In the junior varsity contest, Mulberry Grove won the opener 25-22 but CHBC tallied 25-14, 25-18 wins for the match.

Teutopolis High School opened the season with a 25-21, 25-8 win over Olney Tuesday evening.

The Shoes were led by Emma Deters with six blocks while Julia Frey and Kate Volk had five blocks each. Carly Michels had three digs and three aces. Erica Michels led in kills with seven. Volk had eight assists.

In the junior varsity match, T-town was a winner, 25-23, 25-22.
