Effingham Junior High School claimed two victories over Mattoon in volleyball competition Tuesday.

The Mustangs won the seventh-grade match, 25-20, 25-18 and improve to 17-1.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham claimed 25-13, 25-16 wins for a 17-3 record.

At Mattoon

Seventh-Grade Match

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis fell to Stewardson Trinity Lutheran in seventh-grade volleyball action Tuesday evening.

Trinity opened with a 25-10 win. T-town came back to take the second set, 25-21. Trinity then won the match with a 25-17 count. T-town drops to 4-13.

In eighth-grade action, Trinity Lutheran won in two, 25-22, 25-20. T-town falls to 8-10.

At Newton

Jasper County fell to Hutsonville in the seventh-grade match Tuesday evening.

Hutsonville won the opener 25-13 but Jasper County came back with a 25-23 set. Hutsonville then went out 25-19. Jasper County fell to 4-13.

In eighth-grade play, Jasper County lost the opener 25-12 but came back strong with 25-19, 25-22 counts for the match to improve to 15-4.

At Newton
