Effingham Junior High School captured two victories over Newton St. Thomas in volleyball competition Tuesday.
The Mustangs won the seventh-grade match, 25-21, 25-20 to improve to 15-1 on the season.
In eighth-grade play, the Mustangs were 25-14, 25-20 winners and stand at 13-1.

Effingham Sacred Heart picked up a victory in eighth-grade play over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.
The Shamrocks won 25-21, 25-19.
In seventh-grade action, CHBC was a 25-15, 25-22 winner. In exhibition play, the teams played to an 8-8 tie.

Teutopolis picked up two wins over Altamont in action Tuesday.
The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest with a 25-23 count. Altamont came back and took the second set, 25-17. T-town then won the match, 25-18. The Shoes improve to 4-11.
In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 25-17, 25-6 winner and is 6-7.
