DIETERICH -- Effingham Junior High School downed host Dieterich in volleyball action Thursday evening.
The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest, 25-20, 24-26, 25-9 to remain unbeaten at 7-0 on the season.
In eighth-grade play, Effingham was a winner, 25-12, 25-18 and is now 7-0.

Effingham Sacred Heart and Neoga split victories Thursday evening.
Neoga claimed the seventh-grade match. Sacred Heart won the opener 29-27 but Neoga came back with 25-15, 25-20 counts for the win.
In eighth-grade play, the Shamrocks won 25-22, 25-12.
Sacred Heart won an exhibition match, 28-18.

St. Anthony won the seventh-grade match, 20-25, 25-22, 25-13. Jasper County dropped to 3-6.
In eighth-grade action, Jasper County was a 25-20, 25-3 winner and improves to 8-1.
