Windsor/Stew-Stras Takes Second at Shelbyville Volleyball Invite

SHELBYVILLE -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School captured second place at the Shelbyville Volleyball Invitational Saturday.
Scores were Pana defeated Shelbyville JV 25-13, 25-12, Rochester defeated Neoga 25-6, 25-11, Pana defeated Rochester 25-13, 25-22, Shelbyville defeated Neoga 17-25, 25-17, 15-12, Pana defeated Neoga 25-16, 25-21, Rochester defeated Shelbyville JV 25-6, 25-14, WSS defeated Shelbyville 25-13, 21-25, 15-11, Champaign St. Thomas More defeated Effingham 25-14, 25-17, St. Thomas More defeated Shelbyville 25-9, 25-15, WSS defeated Effingham 25-19, 21-25, 15-11, Effingham defeated Shelbyville 25-22, 22-25, 17-15, St. Thomas More defeated WSS 25-17, 23-25, 15-11, Shelbyville defeated Shelbyville JV 25-20, 25-18, Effingham defeated Neoga 25-19, 25-19, Effingham defeated Shelbyville 25-15, 25-10, Shelbyville JV defeated Neoga 22-25, 25-23, 15-9, St. Thomas More defeated Rochester 20-25, 25-16, 15-13 and WSS defeated Pana 13-25, 25-17, 15-11.
In the third place contest, Pana defeated Rochester 25-23, 19-25, 25-17.
The championship match went to St.Thomas More over Windsor/Stew-Stras 25-12, 25-14.
"Overall the girls played well today," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Tyey had their ups and downs but were able to pull out the win after going three sets on every match but the championshp match. By then they were just so tired we couldn't keep in sync."
Named to the All-Tournament Team were Windsor/Stew-Stras' Mackenzie Tabbert and Megan Schlechte and Neoga's Mary Hill.

At Mulberry Grove
Neoga claimed a victory over Mulberry Grove in a Friday match.
The Indians won in two sets, 25-13, 25-8. Olivia Titus led the winners in kills with seven. Aly Easton had 12 assists. Zoe Meadows had four digs. Blair Banning finished with four aces.
Mulberry Grove claimed the junior varsity match 25-21, 18-25, 25-23.
