At Teutopolis
Teutopolis lost the opening set 25-17 against Centralia but came back with 25-15, 25-21 counts for the match in Monday evening action.
"The varsity won for the 16th time this season," said T-town Coach Tim Mills. "And, once again, we dropped the first set only to come back and win the last two. Service errors plagued us all night, but the first set was the worst. We missed six serves. Couple that with seven hitting errors and five shanked passes and we gave them over half the points they needed to win that first set. They're apparently comfortable playing from behind. We came out in set two with plenty of fire power and rolled out to a quick seven point advantage. They could never make up that deficit and we won set two by a wide margin. We led from start to finish in set three but we never got very far ahead of them. They played better defense in set three and we had to work harder to terminate attacks."
Centralia claimed the junior varsity match 25-15, 25-17. The freshmen split with Centralia winning 25-21 and T-town claiming a 25-17 set.
