ST. ELMO -- Effingham St. Anthony tallied a National Trail Conference win over St. Elmo/Brownstown in volleyball action Tuesday.
The Bulldogs won in two sets, 25-23, 25-19. Meg Richards and Marci Mills had five kills each. Shea Kinkelaar led in aces with four. Abby Stock had 22 assists and a block. Richards and Mills had a block each.
SEB was led by Dana Shelton and Marlee Nolen with five kills each. Shelton led in digs with eight. Nolen led in points with seven. Madison Carson had six assists.
In junior varsity play, St. Anthony also won 25-23, 23-25, 25-15. SEB claimed a freshman contest 25-23.

At Effingham
Effingham High School put up a fight but ended up with a loss to visiting Mahomet-Seymour in action Tuesday.
The Hearts won the opener 25-22 but Mahomet-Seymour took the second set 25-23. Mahomet-Seymour then claimed the match 28-26.
The Hearts drop to 6-12 on the season. Carsyn Fearday led in kills with eight and had 12 digs. Aly Armstrong led in assists with 17. Chloe Martin had five aces and four blocks. Miranda Fox led in digs with 16.
Effingham captured the junior varsity match 25-14, 25-18 to improve to 6-4.
Effingham also won the freshman/sophomore contest 25-20, 25-15 to improve to 3-5.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis dropped a match to Pana but the Wooden Shoes didn't give up easily.
Pana took the opener 25-23. The Wooden Shoes then fought back with a 27-25 count. But the Panthers went out with a 25-15 win for the match. The Shoes drop to 12-9 on the season.
T-town's junior varsity won its fourth straight match 25-18, 26-24. The freshmen split with Pana winning 25-22 and T-town claiming a 25-20 count.
At Teutopolis

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg continued to roll along in the National Trail Conference with a victory over Neoga Tuesday.
The Hatchets claimed 25-16, 25-9 counts for a 5-0 conference mark and a 10-2 overall record.
"We started a little slow but then connected very well," said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Passing was key tonight and we were able to have some fun with our offense. Hopefully, it's uphill from here on out."
Mackenzi Tabbert and Megan Schlechte had two aces each for the winners. Schlechte tallied 12 kills and 11 digs. Tabbert had 20 assists.
Neoga was led by Jessica Atwell and Blair Banning with four digs each, Mary Hill with three kills and 1 block and Aly Easton with four assists.
The Hatchets won the junior varsity contest 23-25, 25-12, 25-16 to improve to 4-1 in the conference, 9-2 overall.
WSS took a freshman/sophomore match 27-25, 25-21 and is 3-3.

Altamont improved to 4-1 in the National Trail Conference with a 25-19, 25-14 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday evening.
The Indians were led by Mette with five kills, seven aces and two blocks, Grimsley with 18 digs, and Hoene with nine assists. Altamont is now 12-5 on the season.
The Bobcats' Haley Atchley had five kills while Kylee Bertin had five assists. Olivia Witteborg led in digs with eight. CHBC drops to 2-3 in the conference, 4-8 overall.
Altamont tallied a 25-13, 25-19 win in junior varsity play. The Indians are 4-0 in the conference, 10-3 overall.

Newton defeated Cumberland in two sets, 25-12, 25-14 Tuesday evening.
Frohning had 14 kills to lead the Eagles. Earnest had three aces. Bierman led in blocks with two. Hemrich had 17 assists and Geltz and Earnest led in digs with six each. The Eagles are 12-6 on the season.
Cumberland was led by Sadie Oakley, Maddy Hendrix and Tayler McMechan with two kills each. Hendrix had two blocks. Michaela Bradley and McMechan led in assists with four each. Claire Guyon had 21 digs.
Newton is now 12-6 on the season.
Newton also claimed the junior varsity match 25-9, 25-20.
