Junior Class 7-3A State Volleyball Tourney -- March 14

DOWNS -- Cumberland Junior High School captured third place at the Class 7-3A State Volleyball Tournament Tuesday at Downs Tri-Valley High School.

Cumberland faced Auburn and came out on top in two hard-fought contests, 28-26 and 26-24.

Picking up statistics for Cumberland were Carly Thornton, four aces and 12 points; Mackenzie Taylor, three points; Zoe Mtichell, three aces, four points; Ivy Ayers, three aces, five points; Emma Butler, one point; Isabelle Martinez, three points and Taylor Tolen, three points.

Winning the championship was Eureka over Washington 25-17, 25-15.
