Teutopolis and Effingham St. Anthony split wins in seventh and eighth grade volleyball competition Friday.

The Wooden Shoes won 25-23, 17-25, 25-23 in seventh-grade play to improve to 8-4. The Bullpups dropped to 5-9.

In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony was the winner 25-20, 23-25, 25-22. The Bullpups improved to 11-5. T-town dropped to 8-4.

At Effingham

Effingham held a seventh-grade tournament Saturday.

Effingham B team defeated Ramsey 25-23, 25-20 and lost to Trinity Lutheran 25-13, 25-19. The Effingham A team beat Ramsey 25-14, 25-17 and lost to Trinity Lutheran 25-23, 25-17.

Effingham beat Sacred Heart 25-8, 25-20.

Charleston Seventh-Grade Tournament

Teutopolis competed in the Charleston Seventh-Grade Tournament and picked up two victories and suffered one loss.

T-town beat Kansas Tri-County 25-20, 25-8. Charleston downed T-town 25-16, 25-19. T-town then beat Decatur Robertson 25-20, 25-18.

The Shoes are now 10-5.

 

NTC Seventh-Grade Tournament

In the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Tournament at Neoga, Effingham Sacred Heart came out the champion.

The Shamrocks beat North Clay (Louisville) 25-18, 25-10 and Sigel St. Michael 25-22, 25-13. In the title contest, Sacred Heart downed St. Elmo/Brownstown 25-15, 25-17.

Dieterich suffered two losses. Dieterich fell to Neoga 25-16, 25-22 and then lost to Stewardson-Strasburg 25-18, 25-21. Dieterich is now 5-10.

No other scores were reported on the tournament.

Jasper County competed in the LEIC Seventh-Grade Tournament Saturday.

In the opener, Jasper County beat Lawrenceville 25-8, 25-22. The second game went to Palestine-Hutsonville 25-22, 25-19.
