Altamont and St. Elmo/Brownstown split junior high softball victories Friday evening.

St.Elmo/Brownstown claimed the seventh-grade contest 25-10, 25-21. Altamont dropped to 1-3 in the National Trail Conference, 1-6 overall.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont won 25-18, 25-20 and improves to 4-0 in the conference, 5-2 overall.

Newton St. Thomas Invitational

Dieterich competed in the Newton St. Thomas Seventh-Grade Invitational and fell twice.

Dieterich lost to Trinity Lutheran 25-7, 25-22. In the second match, Dieterich won the opener over St. Anthony 26-24 but fell in the next two 25-12, 15-9.
