Altamont came calling at Effingham St. Anthony and the Bulldogs beat the Indians 25-21, 23-25, 25-19 in volleyball action Tuesday.
Grimsley led in digs with 27 and aces with four for the Indians while H. Wolff and Mette had five kills each. No statistics were provided for St. Anthony.
In the junior varsity match, St. Anthony won 25-23, 25-21.

At Taylorville
Effingham fell to Taylorville in Apollo Conference play, 25-15, 25-21. The Hearts drop to 1-3 in the conference, 2-15 overall.
Kaitlyn Baker and Sidney Webster had three kills each. Webster and Aly Armstrong had five assists each. Victoria Garren led in digs with 10.
The Hearts won over Taylorville 25-18, 25-21 in the junior varsity match. EHS is now 5-5.
In a freshman/sophomore contest, Taylorville was a winner 25-15, 25-21. The Hearts drop to 4-4.

Megan Schlechte led in aces with eight. Mackenzi Tabbert had five kills. Becca Schlechte led in assists with 14 and digs with five.
In the junior varsity match, WSS won 25-13, 25-17 to improve to 8-5. The Hatchets won the freshman/sophomore match 25-22, 26-24 and is 4-5-1.

Macy Michels led the Wooden Shoes in blocks with five. Julia Frye had six kills. Savannah Grimes led in assists with 10 and had nine points.
Dieterich was led by Sydnie Vahling with three aces, four digs and two kills. Hannah Hunzinger led in assists with three. The Maroons drop to 7-10.
T-town also nabbed the junior varsity match 25-10, 25-21. Dieterich drops to 0-12. T-town improved to 10-1.

Newton tallied a 25-6, 25-11 victory over Red Hill (Bridgeport) in action Tuesday.
Bergbower led in aces with five and kills with five. Earnest also had five kills. Hartrich led in assists with 13.
The Eagles claimed the junior varsity match 25-13, 24-26, 15-8.
Newton sports a whopping 20-2 record in varsity action.
