Altamont, Newton Wins; T-town Loses

DIETERICH -- Altamont High School came calling and downed Dieterich in two volleyball games, 25-18, 25-17 Thursday evening.
Leading the Indians were White with five kills, Wendling with seven assists, M. Ohnesorge with six aces and Ledbetter, Dorr, Kopplin and White with two digs each. Altamont is now 4-6 in the National Trail Conference, 11-17 overall.
Altamont won the junior varsity contest in three games.

Newton defeated Cumberland. The Eagles lost the opening game 25-21 but came back with 25-10, 25-16 victories to pull out the match.
Keidrah Hardiek had 15 kills for the winners. Gabby Zerrusen had 21 assists. Morgan Swingler led in digs with 23.
Leading Cumberland were Kassidy Hunt in kills with 17, Olivia Titus with 16 digs, Kamisha Holsapple with 23 assists, Micah Seibert with 16 points and Holsapple and Hunt with two blocks each.

Mount Zion came calling and handed Teutopolis a loss on Senior Night for the Wooden Shoes. The Braves won 25-12, 25-21.
Leading T-town were Anna Grimes with three aces, Katelyn Ruholl with 16 assists and three digs and Natalie Summers with seven kills and three drigs.
Mount Zion also won the junior varsity match, 25-23, 25-15 and a freshman/sophomore contest 25-21, 23-25, 11-9.
T-town is back in action Monday in the Shelbyville Regional at 7 p.m. against host Shelbyville.
