Newton Claims Hutsonville Volleyball Title

HUTSONVILLE -- Newton High School captured the championship of the Hutsonville Volleyball Invitational Saturday.

The Eagles beat Dugger, Ind. 25-7, 25-13 then took a win over Oblong 25-13, 25-12. Newton defeated Lawrenceville 25-14, 25-8 and downed Bement in the championship match 25-6, 25-8.

Hardiek led the tournament in aces with 19 for the Eagles. Bergbower had 28 kills and 12 digs. Hartrich had 51 assists.
