Effingham, St. Anthony Claim Victories

ALTAMONT -- Effingham High School traveled to Altamont and handed the Indians a loss in two games, 25-14, 25-15 Monday evening.
The Hearts were led by Kelli Utz in aces with three and digs with six. Deedra Myers also had six digs. Chandler Raney led in kills with five. Felicia Totten had eight assists. Raney and Erica Feldhake had three blocks each.
EHS also nabbed the victory in junior varsity play, 25-10, 25-20 and claimed freshman wins, 22-20, 21-13 to improve to 10-3.

Effingham St. Anthony traveled to South Central and handed the Cougars a loss in two games, 25-14, 25-22.
Haley Mathis led the Bulldogs in kills with seven, blocks with four, assists with 14 and aces with two. Megan Nuxoll also had seven kills and 11 digs along with two aces. Kassy Dammerman had 13 digs. The Bulldogs improve to 26-7 on the season.
South Central was led by Lexis Shafer with five kills and Maria and Lincoln Brasel with a block each.
South Central won the junior varsity match 22-25, 25-17, 25-20. The Cougars drop to 22-10.
