Junior High Volleyball Regionals -- March 9

CHARLESTON -- Effingham Junior High School moved into the championship match of the Class 4A Charleston Volleyball Regional with a victory Wednesday evening.

The Mustangs won the opener 25-23 over host Charleston then came back with the same 25-23 count to put the contest into the win category.

Tolono Unity won the opener over Mattoon 25-15, 25-17.

Effingham will now face Tolono Unity today at 4:30 p.m. for the regional championship and the right to advance to the Urbana Sectional next week.

Class 8-3A Shelbyville Moulton Regional

Teutopolis saw its season come to a close with a loss in the Class 8-3A Shelbyville Moulton Regional Wednesday.

The Wooden Shoes beat Moulton 25-22 in the opener but Shelbyville came back with 25-18, 25-15 scores for the match.

In the second match, Cumberland defeated Pana 25-10, 25-21.

Cumberland will now face Shelbyville Moulton at 6 p.m. today for the championship.
