Junior High Volleyball -- Feb. 25

Dieterich and St. Elmo/Brownstown split junior high volleyball victories Thursday evening.

Dieterich was a winner in seventh-grade play. SEB won the opener 25-22 but Dieterich came back to take the next two, 25-22, 26-24 and improve to 3-15.

In eighth-grade action, St. Elmo/Brownstown claimed a 25-17, 26-24 win to improve to 4-14.

Effingham and Cumberland split wins Thursday. Cumberland won the seventh-grade match 25-21, 25-17.

In eighth-grade action, Effingham picked up the victory. The Mustangs lost the opener 25-22 but came back with 26-24 and 25-18 counts for the win.

Teutopolis picked up two wins over Newton St. Thomas in action Thursday.

The Shoes won the seventh-grade match 25-15, 25-10 to finish the regular season with an 8-11 record. T-town will face Arthur Monday at 6 p.m. at the Class 7-3A Pana Regional.

In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 25-23, 25-20 winner over St. Thomas and finishes the regular season at 8-11. The eighth-grade will compete in the Class 8-3A Shelbyville Regional March 8.

North Clay won the seventh-grade match 25-14, 25-21.

In eighth-grade action, North Clay won the opener 25-22 before Jasper Fairfield came back with a 25-20 count. North Clay then claimed the match 15-6.
