The Crossroads Classic Junior High Volleyball Tournament took place Saturday at Effingham High School.
In Pool A, St. Rose defeated Effingham St. Anthony 25-12, 25-18 while the Bullpups fell to Hartsburg in the next match 25-6, 25-6. Hartsburg then downed St. Rose 21-25, 25-10, 25-9.
In Pool B, Murphysboro won over Mount Pulaski 25-9, 25-16; Salem downed Murphysboro 25-21, 7-25, 25-13 and Mount Pulaski beat Salem 25-11, 25-14.
In Pool C, Our Lady of Lourdes won over West Salem 25-16, 25-7. Effingham beat West Salem 26-24, 25-18 and OLOL downed the Mustangs 25-13, 25-8.
In Pool D, Prairieview-Ogden defeated Stewardson Trinity 25-18, 25-19 and Edwards County (Albion) 25-7, 25-17. Trinity then beat Edwards County 28-26, 25-22.
In the Bronze Flight, St. Anthony finished fourth. The Bullpups fell to Salem 25-11, 25-7 while Edwards County won over Salem 25-11, 25-22. In the third place match, Salem beat St. Anthony 27-29, 25-8, 25-14. Edwards County then claimed the championship with a 25-15, 26-24 win over Salem.
In the Silver Flight, St. Rose beat Mount Pulaski 25-22, 25-14 while Effingham beat Stewardson Trinity 25-18, 25-23. In the third place match, Trinity downed Mount Pulaski 25-18, 25-23. St. Rose beat Effingham for the championship 25-19, 25-20.
In the Gold Flight, Prairieview beat Our Lady of Lourdes 17-25, 25-18, 25-21 while Murphysboro won over Hartsburg 25-17, 25-20. In the third place match, Our Lady of Lourdes won over Hartsburg 26-25, 23-25, 25-11. The championship match featured Murphysboro and Prairieview but no score was reported.

Neoga Junior High School nabbed two wins over Dieterich in volleyball competition during the weekend.
Neoga won the seventh-grade match 25-18, 23-25, 25-18. Dieterich drops to 2-14.
In eighth-grade play, Neoga was a winner 25-8, 25-12. Dieterich is now 3-10.

At Charleston
Teutopolis competed in the Charleston Eighth-Grade Tournament Saturday and picked up a victory and suffered a loss.
In the opening match, T-town downed Tri-County 24-26, 25-11, 15-10.
The second match went to Charleston over T-town 25-23, 25-21. The Shoes are now 7-10 on the season.

LEIC Tournament
Jasper County competed in the LEIC Tournament Saturday and finished in second place.
Jasper County beat Casey-Westfield 25-12, 25-17 then won over Cumberland 28-26, 25-22. In the championship match, Jasper County fell to Paris Mayo, 25-18, 25-18.
