WSS, Newton Nab Volleyball Wins

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School handed Arcola a non-conference volleyball loss Monday evening, 25-17, 25-20. The win gives the Hatchets a 17-6 overall record.
"We celebrated our Senior Night tonight,"' said WSS Coach Ronda Schlechte. "Autumn Bennett, Ciara Kaufman, Mercedez Austin and Jill Conder are our seniors. We want to thank the crowd for wearing pink for our Pink Night. Our fans have really participated in our themes at home games and the team really appreciates that. It has been fun to watch."
Leading the Hatchets were Bennett in aces with five, kills with 10 and digs with seven. Jocelyn Schultz had 11 assists and Megan Schlechte had 10 kills.
WSS also nabbed the junior varsity match, winning 25-11, 25-22 to improve to 12-1.

At Martinsville
Newton picked up a victory over Martinsville, 25-9, 25-11 and is now 21-5 on the season.
Kline led in aces with four while Frohning had five kills. Earnest led in assists with 10. Cohorst led in blocks with two and digs with four.
In the junior varsity contest, Newton was a winner, 25-11, 25-15.
Newton will celebrate Senior Night Thursday playing host to Olney.
