STRASBURG -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School handed South Central its first National Trail Conference volleyball loss Monday evening.

The Hatchets won 25-8, 25-1 to improve to 4-0 in the conference, 9-3 overall.

"The girls were fired up for the first set," said WSS Coach Rhonda Schlechte. "We played well both offensively and defensively. Kenzi Tabbert served 11 straight serves to set up that game. We started set two with some missed serves. We are still working on consistency with new positions."

Tabbert led in aces with three and digs with seven. Megan Schlechte had nine kills. Jocelyn Schultz had seven assists.

South Central was led by Deidra Schaal and Kendall Burleyson with four points each. Emily Chapman had five assists and two kills. The Cougars drop to 4-1 in the conference, 14-2 overall.

WSS claimed the junior varsity match 25-20, 25-18 and won the freshman/sophomore contest 25-14, 25-11.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis picked up a victory over Greenville, 25-22, 25-15. Danielle Repking led in digs with 11. Kayla Kroeger led in kills with seven. Jessica Drees had eight aces.

"It was a pretty good night all around," said T-town Coach Tim Mills. "We won at each level and everyone contributed. The varsity took a little while to get going. We spotted Greenville six points to begin set one, mostly on hitting errors. But eventually they got the offense going and were in control for all of set two."

Flora came calling and claimed a 25-17, 25-19 win over Altamont in non-conference play Monday.

Laatsch led Altamont in kills with seven. She also had one ace and one stuff block. The Indians drop to 4-6.

Altamont won the junior varsity match 25-18, 25-21 and a freshman contest 25-13.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) captured a win over Dieterich. The Cardinals won the opener 25-23 but Dieterich came back with a 25-19 victory. North Clay then had a hard-fought 26-24 final for the match.

North Clay also nabbed the junior varsity contest 25-21, 25-10.
