Crossroads Classic Volleyball Tournament Opens Play Friday

The 24th Annual BSN Sports Nike Crossroads Classic Volleyball Tournament will open play Friday with Effingham and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg serving at the host schools.

Twenty-four matches will be contested Friday beginning at 6 p.m. at Effingham High School Gym 1, Gym 2, Gym 3 and Gym 4, Effingham Junior High School and Effingham Sacred Heart.

Teams in Pool A include Wheaton St. Francis, Belleville Althoff and Effingham. In Pool B are Glenbard West, St. Louis Ursuline and Walter Payton. Lexington Henry Clay, Illiana Christian and Hermann make up Pool C. Pool D teams are Indianapolis Chatard, Champaign Centennial and Naperville Central.

Pool E teams are Libertyville, Mattoon and Owensboro Catholic. Pool F teams are Bloomington, McCracken County and Windsor/Stew-Stras. Pool G teams are Normal University, Breese Central and Whitney Young. Making up Pool H are Festus St. Pius X, Edwardsville and Kansas Tri-County.

The Hearts will open play against Belleville Althoff at 6 p.m. in EHS Gym 2. EHS will then meet Wheaton St. Francis at 8:10 p.m. in the same gym. Windsor/Stew-Stras takes on Bloomington at 6 p.m. in Gym 4 and McCracken County at 9:20 p.m. in Gym 3.
