VIDEO: EHS Beats St. A in Pinkout Volleyball Match

Effingham High School picked up the annual Pinkout volleyball victory over Effingham St. Anthony Tuesday evening.
Chandler Ramsey had 11 kills for the Hearts while Micaela Chrappa had 11 digs to guide the Hearts. Jennifer Fred pounded down five aces. Sidney Webster and Hannah Pike picked up 11 and 10 assists respectively.
"Micaela did a great job passing in the back row," said EHS Coach Mindy McCollum. "My hitters also did a nice job. My setters are new this season and did a good job getting the ball to the kids who needed it."
St. Anthony was led by Taylor Dammerman in digs with eight. Aly Esker and Jenna Woltman had five assists each. Hannah Will had five kills and a block.
In junoir varsity play, Effingham claimed the win 25-9, 25-15. The Hearts also won the freshman/sophomore match 25-15, 14-25, 15-11.

At Cowden
Teutopolis came calling and claimed a 25-7, 25-21 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday.
"The varsity match was really won at the service line," said T-town Coach Tim Mills. "Cowden-Herrick struggled with their serve receive. Our servers recorded 16 aces. Set two was closer as both teams made plenty of mistakes."
The Wooden Shoes were led by Kyla Kroeger with 12 of 12 serves, six aces and nine points. Savannah Grimes had eight of eight serves and three aces and Hannah Kreke 10 of 13 serves and four aces. Macy Michels had 11 of 12 hits, five blocks and six kills.
T-town won the junior varsity match 25-17, 25-23 and a freshman contest 25-15, 19-25, 17-15.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg captured a 25-9, 25-16 victory over Dieterich. Leading the winners were Autumn Bennett with seven kills, Becca Schlechte with 15 assists and three digs, Ciara Kaufman with six aces and Megan Schlechte with three digs.

St. Elmo/Brownstown picked up a victory over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 25-19, 25-13.
Brandi Howard led in kills with six for the winners. Emily Bone had 10 digs and Sarah Maxey had 15 assists.
