Dieterich Claims Volleyball Win, CHBC Drops Match

DIETERICH -- Dieterich High School went three games before taking a win over Oblong in volleyball competition to improve to 1-1 on the season.

Dieterich defeated Oblong in the opener 25-16 but Oblong came back with a 25-18 victory. Dieterich then went out at 25-22.

Sydnie Vahling led the Movin' Maroons in kills with 10. Lauren Garbe scored 15 points and had three aces and four blocks. Hannah Hunzinger led in assists with 12. Hunzinger and Mikayla Winters had six digs each.

Okaw Valley played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and handed the visitors a loss 25-14, 25-23. CHBC drops to 1-1 on the season.
