Sigel St. Michael Lone Area Team To Win Seventh-Grade Volleyball Regional

Sigel St. Michael was the lone area squad to claim a seventh-grade girls volleyball regional championship Thursday evening.

St. Michael claimed its own Class 7-1A Regional title by defeating Effingham Sacred Heart 25-19, 25-13. The Sharpshooters now advance to the Grayville Sectional Monday to face Grayville at 6 p.m.

Class 7-1A West Salem Regional

Newton St. Thomas saw its season come to a close with a loss to Grayville Thursday evening.

Grayville claimed the win in two games, 25-17, 25-16. Grayville advances to its own sectional  Monday to face Sigel St. Michael at 6 p.m.

Class 8-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional

Altamont fell to Raymond Lincolnwood Thursday evening in the championship match of the Class 8-2A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional.

Raymond Lincolnwood won 25-16, 25-14 to advance to the St. Elmo/Brownstown Sectional Monday to face Palmyra Northwestern at 6 p.m.

Class 7-3A Shelbyville Moulton Regional

Tuscola East Prairie claimed the victory over Teutopolis to win the championship of the Class 3-A  Shelbyville Moulton Regional.

Tuscola East Prairie won 25-14, 25-10. The squad now advances to the Casey-Westfield Sectional Monday to face Paris Mayo at 6 p.m.

Class 7-3A Casey-Westfield Regional

Paris Mayo ended Jasper County's season with a victory to claim the Casey-Westfield Regional title Thursday.

Jasper County won the opener 25-15 but Paris Mayo rallied to tie the match at 21-25 then won 25-21. Paris Mayo now faces Tuscola East Prairie Monday at the Casey-Westfield Sectional at 6 p.m.
