Hearts Third At Mount Pulaski Tournament

Effingham High School captured third place in the Mount Pulaski Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

The two losses came in three games. The Hearts won the opener against Edwards County (Albion) 25-16. Edwards County then came back to win the next two 25-23, 25-17. EHS then won the opener over Mount Pulaski 25-22. But, once again, the Hearts lost as Mount Pulaski won 25-23, 25-23.

EHS then beat Stewardson-Strasburg 25-17, 25-19, Illini Central 25-15, 21-25, 25-20 and came back for a 25-15, 25-17 win over Edwards County for third place.

Stew-Stras lost to Illini Central. The Comets won 25-19 before losing 25-23, 25-19. Stew-Stras then fell to Effingham 25-17, 25-19. Edwards County beat the Comets 25-14, 25-17. Stew-Stras fell to Gibault 25-22, 25-12. The Comets then fell to Illini Central 25-21, 15-25, 25-19 to finish eighth.
