St. Anthony, South Central Claim Two NTC Tourney Wins

Effingham St. Anthony and South Central claimed two victories in pool play as the National Trail Conference Volleyball Tournament opened play Thursday evening at the Enlow Center.
St. Anthony began play by downing Beecher City 25-11, 25-16. South Central then beat Dieterich 25-9, 25-5.
The Bulldogs came back with a 25-20, 25-12 win over Dieterich. South Central defeated Beecher City 25-18, 25-15.
The tournament continues tonight with play at the Enlow Center and Goff Gym beginning at 5 p.m. at both gyms.

At Effingham
Effingham picked up a victory over Taylorville 25-12, 25-14. The Hearts were led by Brittany Beals with three blocks, Jennifer Fred with six digs, Chandler Ramey with eight kills and Felicia Totten with 21 assists.
In a junior varsity contest, Effingham was a winner 25-20, 25-23. The two teams tied in freshman action. The Hearts won 25-16 and Taylorville claimed a 25-17 win.
The Hearts will recognize their seniors when they play host to Salem Tuesday. The junior varsity match will begin at 6 p.m. and the recognition ceremony will take place immediatley following the junior vasrity match.
