Stew-Stras Wins Regional Volleyball Title

Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High School claimed the Class 7-1A Effingham Sacred Heart Volleyball Regional championship Monday evening.
Stew-Stras defeated host Sacred Heart in two sets, 25-21, 25-18.
Stew-Stras will now participate in its own sectional Monday, March 10 at 6 p.m. against the winner of the 7-1A West Salem, either Grayville or West Salem.
At Effingham

Class 7-2A Paris Crestwood Regional
Arthur took the championship of the Class 7-2A Paris Crestwood Regional Monday evening.
Arthur defeated Oakland Lake Crest 25-17, 25-21. Arthur now advances to the St. Elmo/Brownstown Sectcional Monday, March 10 against either Altamont or Edwards County (Albion). Those two teams play Thursday for the championship of the Edwards County Regional.
Class 7-3A Tuscola East Prairie Regional
Teutopolis advanced in the Tuscola East Prairie Regional Monday evening. The contest was the lone match on the schedule in this regional.
T-town defeated Sullivan 25-7, 25-11. T-town advances to action tonight facing host Tuscola East Prairie at 6 p.m. followed by Shelbyville Moulton against Paris Mayo at 7:15.
Class 7-4A Charleston Regional
Tolono Unity and Mattoon advanced in opening round play of the Charleston Regional Monday evening.
Tolono Unity defeated Urbana 15-25, 25-5, 25-10. Mattoon won over Charleston 25-12, 17-25, 25-20.
The Effingham match was postponed until tonight. The Mustangs will face Tolono Unity at 4:30 p.m. followed by Mattoon against the winner of that match at 5:30 for the championship.
