Michel Takes Second For Millikin

The Millikin men’s and women’s track and field team opened the Indoor Track season at the Illinois Wesleyan First Chance Meet on Dec. 7 in Bloomington, Ill. No team scores were kept.
Highlights for the Millikin women included a second place finish by Jamie Michl (Newton, H.S.) in the 600 meters in 1:39.51. Marie Guillain (Courbevoie, France) finished in third in the 300 meters in 43.46, which was the second fastest time in Millikin history. Amanda Morgan (Flossmoor, Homewood Flossmoor H.S.) finished in fifth in the weight throw at 12.69 meters (41-7.75).
On the men’s side, Jacob Segrest (Brighton, Southwestern H.S.) finished in second place in the long jump with a jump of 6.46 meters (21-2.50).
Jordan McCall (Illiopolis, Sangamon Valley H.S.) set a school record in the 300 meters with a time of 37.48. He finished in 10th place in the race. Alex Kemp (Tuscola, H.S.) turned in Millikin’s second quickest 300 meters in 37.51.
Millikin will return to action on Jan. 25, 2014 at the Midwest Invite hosted by Monmouth College.
