St. Anthony Claims Girls Track Meet

SULLIVAN -- Effingham St. Anthony claimed first place in the Sullivan Quad girls track meet Tuesday.

The Bulldogs tallied 76 followed by Sullivan 64 and Cerro Gordo-Bement 24.

St. Anthony's Reese Hoene won the 100 in 13.75 seconds and claimed the 400 in 1:04.91 minutes.

Aubrey Denning also was a double event winner. She won the 800 in 2:26.44 minutes and the 1600 in 5:31.08.

Another double event winner was Liv Hoene who claimed the 100 hurdles in 18.0 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 52.61.

The Bulldogs won the 4x200 relay in 2:04.06 minutes. Team members were Sophia Emmerich, Mary Schiedemantel, Cara Hatton and Audrey LaSarge. The Bulldogs also won the 4x400 relay in 4:34.03. team members were L. Hoene, LaSarge, R. Hoene and Denning.

In the field events, Madilyn Haarmann won the discus with a throw of 26.85 meters. Nora Trupiano claimed first in the pole vault at 2.44 meters. R. Hoene won the long jump at 5.00 meters.

In the boys meet, Tuscola was the team champion with 117 followed by Sullivan 69, Effingham St. Anthony 41 and Cerro Gordo-Bement 41.

St. Anthony's Camden Bloemer was the winner in the 3200 meters in 10:36.04 minutes.

Calvin Sudkamp won the high jump at 1.90 meters.
