Parker Wolf Wins State 400, Ben Roedl Captures Three Top Five Finishes At Class 1A State Track

CHARLESTON -- Newton High School's Parker Wolf is a Class 1A State champion while Altamont High School's Ben Roedl placed in the top five in three different events at the Class 1A State Boys Track Meet Saturday at Eastern Illinois University's O'Brien Stadium.

Wolf claimed the championship of the 400. He placed second in the preliminaries Friday and advanced to the finals Saturday where he crossed the finish line with a winning time of 49.79 seconds.

Roedl, meanwhile, competed in the finals of three events. He finished third in the high jump with a leap of 1.97 meters. Roedl claimed fourth in the long jump at 6.60 meters and was fifth in the triple jump at 13.33 meters.

Altamont's Jacob Veteto finished 11th in the pole vault at 3.90 meters.

Brownstown/St. Elmo's Trenton Monnet claimed sixth place in the discus with a throw of 47.77 meters.

Reid Carlen, a Cumberland competitor, claimed sixth in the 100 in 11.06 seconds.

Effingham St. Anthony's Calvin Sudkamp competed in the finals of the high jump Saturday and finished 12th in 1.80 meters. The 4x800 relay team of Elliott Frisbie, Noah Flaig, Isaac Fallert and Julius Ramos finished 10th with a time of 8:20.81 minutes.

Newton's Wade Wickham ended 12th in the pole vault at 3.90 meters.

Dieterich's Kaden Einhorn competed in the 3200 Saturday and was 15th with a time of 10:05.11 minutes.

Meanwhile, Cowden/Herrick/Beecher City's Griffn Vaughn also competed in the 3200 and finished 23rd in 10:26.05.

Teutopolis High School's Brant Niebrugge finished 16th in the pole vault at 3.65 meters.
