Keller Earns First, Second Place Finishes at Girls Class 1A State Track

CHARLESTON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School's Isabella Keller captured a first place finish at the Class 1A State Girls Track Meet Saturday.

Keller won the 3200 with a time of 10:34.07 minutes. She also claimed second place in the 1600 in 4:56.07 minutes.

Aubrey Denning finished third in the 800 for St. Anthony with a time of 2:12.90 minutes. She also had a ninth place finish in the 1600 in 5:17.07.

St. Anthony finished fifth with 32 points. Winning the 1A State meet was Glen Carbon Father McGivney with 56.5 points followed by Tuscola 45, El Paso-Gridley 38, Belleville Althoff Catholic 33 and St. Anthony in the top five. Teutopolis garnered seven points to finish tied for 38th. Newton tied for 52nd with five points and North Clay earned three points and tied for 62nd.

Teutopolis' Ella Neihls finished third in the triple jump with a jump of 11.04 meters.

Effingham's top finish in Class 2A was the 4x800 relay team of  Baylee Summers, Morgan Springer, Drew Weis and Jessica Larsen who took eighth in 9:44.41 minutes.
