St. Anthony Finishes Second At Girls Pirate Track Invite

TOLEDO -- Robinson High School won the championship of the Cumberland Pirate Girls Track Invitational Saturday with 152 points followed by Effingham St. Anthony 87, Marshall 53, Hume Shiloh 41, Altamont 36, Brownstown/St. Elmo 33, Casey-Westfield 30, Bethany Okaw Valley 18, Arcola 17, Paris 16, Vandalia 16, Cumberland 15 and Neoga 9.

St. Anthony's Liv Hoene was a double event winner. Hoene claimed the 100 hurdles in 17.60 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 50.03.

Aubrey Denning won the 800 in 2:18.21 minutes and was third in the 1600 in 5:23.41. Isabella Keller was a winner in the 1600 in 4:52.48.

Madilyn Haarmann was second in the shot for the Bulldogs with a throw of 9.16 meters. Mary Scheidemantel also claimed a second in the high jump at 1.47 meters while teammate Sophia Emmerich was third  at 1.42. Emma Helmink finished third in the 800 in 2:43.93. Grace Niebrugge took fourth in the triple jump at 9.30 meters.

St. Anthony's 1600 relay team finished third in 4:27.70. Members of the team were Audrey LaSarge, Helmink, Keller and Denning.

Altamont's Abigail Weishaar finished second in the 100 in 1:03.39 minutes. Justyce Higgs was second in the discus with a throw of 28.17. Gabriella Weishaar finished third in the 200 in 28.41 seconds.

Brownstown/St. Elmo's Katie Berner finished second in the 100 hurdles in 17.78 seconds and was second in the 300 hurdles in 50.76. She was a member of the second place 800 relay team along with Cordelia Lytle, Addie Sasse and Presley Williams with a time of 1:55.68.

Cumberland's Katelyn Shoemaker took second in the long jump at 4.62 meters and finished third in the triple jump at 9.80 meters.

Neoga's 3200 relay team finished third in 12:18.53 minutes. Members of the team were Addison Mast, Kendal Lindsay, Atalie Osborn and Lexie Fletcher.
