St. Anthony Takes Second In Girls, Fourth In Boys Pana Track Invite

PANA -- Effingham St. Anthony captured second place in the Pana Track Invitational for the girls and fourth for the boys in action Saturday.

In the girls meet, Pleasant Plains was the winner with 132 points followed by St. Anthony 96, Hillsboro 81, Pana 74, Carlinville 61, Moweaqua Central A&M 48, Litchfield 45, Gillespie 28, Niantic Sangamon Valley 22, Bethany Okaw Valley 18, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 18, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 18, Macon Meridian 15, Mount Pulaski 10, Pawnee 8 and Mount Olive 5.

St. Anthony's Isabella Keller claimed first place in the 800 with a time of 2:16.55 minutes. Keller also claimed the 1600 with a time of 4:59.45 minutes. Aubrey Denning was second in both races finishing the 800 in 2:17.56 and the 1600 in 5:21.43.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's Mya Friese was third in the 200 in 29.54 seconds. Addis Porter took second in the 3200 in 13:39.95.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Kyleigh Wallace finished third in the shot with a throw of 10.01 meters and took third in the discus with a throw of 33.22.

Aubrey LaSarge, Emma Helmink, Keller and Denning competed in the 1600 relay, placing second in 4:24.32 minutes.

Allison Geen won the pole vault at 3.35 meters. Grace Niebrugge took second in the triple jump at 9.49 meters.

Mary Scheidemantel took second in the high jump at 1.52 meters and Sophia Emmerich was third in 1.47.

In the boys meet, Pana was the winner with 116.5 points followed by Litchfield 110, Hillsboro 77.5, St. Anthony 68, Carlinville 65, Gillespie 58, Moweaqua Central A&M 52, Jacksonville Routt 45, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 36, Macon Meridian 24, Niantic Sangamon Valley 23, Dieterich 14, Pawnee 10 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 3.

St. Anthony's 3200 relay team won in 8:37.60 minutes. Members of the team were Elliott Frisbie, Isaac Fallert, Julius Ramos and Noah Flaig.

Calvin Sudkamp won the high jump at 1.82 meters. Ramos captured second in the 1600 in 4:47.05 minutes. Frisbie took third in the 400 in 56.14 seconds. Flaig was third in the 800 in 2:09.11.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's August Cosart took first in the 1600 in 4:44.59 minutes. Griffin Vaughn was third in the 3200 in 10:32.25 minutes while teammate Remington Howell was third in the 110 hurdles in 18.79 seconds.
