North Clay Sets Seven School Records In Boys, Girls Track Meets

FLORA -- North Clay (Louisville) High School claimed a five-team girls track meet while the boys placed fourth Wednesday.

The Cardinals won the girls meet with 90 points followed by Red Hill (Bridgeport) 69, Flora 66, Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 56 and Lawrenceville 40.

North Clay set seven school records with the girls claiming six of those records

Rayna Persinger and Sylvia Robey took three first place finishes for the Cardinals.

Persinger won the 200 in 27.9 seconds, a new school record, and also set a school record in the 400 with a time of 1:06.8 minutes. She also finished first in the long jump with a school record of 18 feet, 2 1/2 inches.

Robey won the 100 hurdles in 18.6 seconds and then set a school record in the 300 hurdles at 56.4 seconds. She then claimed the high jump at 4 feet, 9 inches.

Brooke Koelm captured two victories. She won the 1600 in 6:38.2 minutes and the 3200 in 13:58.3. Karsyn Gaddy claimed the discus with a school record throw of 92 feet, 3 1/2 inches.

In the boys meet, Flora won with 125 points followed by Red Hill 74, Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville 50, North Clay 19 and Lawrenceville 14.

Mason Byers set a school record for the Cardinals in the 400 with a time of 54.6 seconds.
