T-town Second, EHS Fourth At Girls Track Meet

MOUNT ZION -- Teutopolis and Effingham competed in the Mount Zion High School Girls Mini-Track Meet Thursday.

The host squad won the meet with 309.32 points followed by Teutopolis 161, Rochester 134, Effingham 129, Williamsville 90, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 66, Warrensburg-Latham 52, Arcola 44, Bethany Okaw Valley 42, Pana 38.66 and Macon Meridian 14.

Teutopolis claimed four first place finishes and two seconds.

Kaitlyn Vahling won the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.17 seconds. Adrienne Koester took the 800 run in 2:34.26 minutes. Jada Buehnerkemper won the high jump at 4 feet, 8 3/4 inches.

Ella Neihls won the triple jump with a leap of 33 feet, 8 inches and took second in the long jump at 16-1. She also finished fifth in the 60 meter dash in 8.71.

The 800 relay team captured second place in 1:56.38 minutes.

Kaela Neihls took fourth in the triple jump at 32 feet, 3 3/4 inches. Sami Habing was fifth in the pole vault at 8 feet. Emma Bloemer took fifth in the 60 meter hurdles in 11.03. The 3200 relay team was fifth in 13:29.44.

Effingham claimed two firsts in relay events and a second place finish.

In the 1600 relay, the Hearts won in 4:21.21 minutes and the 3200 relay team was a winner in 10:14.84.

Baylee Summers was second in the 400 in 1:04.25 minutes while teammate Melia Wendling was third in 2:46.45 and Anna Theis fourth in 2:48.12.

Summers took third in the high jump at 4 feet, 6 3/4 inches.

Emily Greuel was fourth in the long jump at 14-9 1/2.
