Effingham St. Anthony High School award winners for the 2023 season were, Giovanni Bucio named Most Improved/Record Breaker, Conlan Walsh named Most Valuable Runner/Record Breaker, Griffen Elder named Mr. Hustle/Record Breaker, Aidan Braunecker named Record Breaker, Nick Wiedman named Best Assistant Coach, Max Sager won the Bulldog Award and James Emmerich named Mr. Hustle. Not present was Calvin Sudkamp named the Top Field Athlete.

The Bulldogs set a new record this year in the 3200 relay with a time of 8:22.66 minutes.

St. Anthony was the National Trail Conference champions.

At the State Meet, Elder was 28th in the 1600 in 4:39.13 and 11th in the 3200 in 9:52.71; Conlan Walsh was 21st in the 300 hurdles in 42.26 seconds; the 3200 relay team of Braunecker, Walsh, Bucio and Elder were 14th in 8:26.36 and the 1600 relay team of Bucio, Braunecker, Walsh and Sager were 22nd in 3:34.21.

"We will be losing a great group of seniors this year," said St. Anthony Coach Art Geen. "Those include Giovanni, Conlan, Griffen, Nick and Max.
