Four 1A Area Qualifiers Set For State Finals

CHARLESTON -- Effingham High School had one individual and two relay teams competing at the Class 2A State Boys Track Meet Friday.

Logan Heil competed in the 110 hurdles and finished 25th with a time of 16.28 seconds but did not qualify for Saturday's finals.

The 400 relay team of Weldon Dunston, Caden Walls, Jacob Weaver and Muhammad Freeman had a time of 43.42 seconds.

The 800 relay team of Freeman, Weaver, Dunston and Walls finished with a time of 1:31.78 minutes. Neither relay team qualified for the finals.

Competing Saturday in Class 1A will be Altamont's Eric Kollman in the shot and Jacob Veteto in the pole vault, Ethan Mette (Teutopolis) in the triple jump and Parker Wolf (Newton) in the 400.
