St. Anthony Third At Boys Track Meet, Fourth At Girls

PANA -- Effingham St. Anthony High School finished third in the boys meet and fourth in the girls meet at the Pana Track Invitational Saturday.

Pana won the boys meet with 123 points followed by New Berlin 103.5, St. Anthony 98, Hillsboro 89.5, Litchfield 62.5, Gillespie 46.5, Central A&M 41, Carlinville 37, Pawnee 30, Riverton 25, Okaw Valley 17, Sangamon Valley 17, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 10, Macon Meridian 1 and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg (WSS) 0.

St. Anthony won the 1600 relay with a time of 3:37.13 minutes. Members of the team were Giovanni Bucio, Conlan Walsh, Griffin Elder and Max Sager.

The Bulldogs also claimed the 3200 relay in 9:13.32 minutes. Team members were Aidan Braunecker, Bucio, Walsh and Elder.

Calvin Sudkamp won the high jump at 6 feet. Braunecker claimed the 800 in 2:08.68 minutes

Sager claimed second place in the 400 with a time of 54.45 seconds and took second in the triple jump at 11.33 meters. Elder finished second in the 3200 in 10:14.17 minutes and Walsh was second in the 300 hurdles in 13.96 seconds.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Trenton Monett was third in the shot with a throw of 12.90 meters.

In the girls meet, St. Anthony's Allison Geen won the pole vault at 11 feet while teammate Anna Greene was third at 8-6.

The Bulldogs' Mary Scheidemantel finished third in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches and Stacie Vonderheide was third at 4-10.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's Kyleigh Wallace was second in the discus with a throw of 106 feet, 1 inch.
